Inception Idea

Growing up, I believed that there was a God and there was power in praying to Him. What I didn’t realize was why there was a need for Jesus. I understood Him to be more of a “middle man” and I thought, "why do I need Him when I can just go straight to the Father?"

I realized I was ignoring the importance of Jesus. God sent Jesus to deliver us from our sins. Jesus is a gift and His sacrifice on the cross made God’s mercy available to us all. When we learn about Jesus and how he responded to all the temptation and trials he faced, we are given a clear examples on how we should strive to live. How could I ignore such a beautiful gift from God and the only way to secure salvation?

Once I understood why Jesus was a necessary component, it became clear that the Holy Spirit also needed to be recognized. Even though Jesus was crucified, resurrected, and ascended to Heaven, he promised he would always be with us in the form of the Holy Spirit.

God is our Father who loves us. Jesus is the example we follow to show God our love for Him and others. The Holy Spirit is the power of Jesus that resides within us. All three are important. One is not more important than the other. If we can keep this close to our hearts, we can become change makers and further God’s Kingdom.

The pieces from Copper and Christ give us a physical reminder of our choice to be Christians. Remembering all our actions are seen and known by God, and our choices should always bring glory and honor to Him.
